Travel Channel Goes for Series Featuring Rev Run

CHEVY CHASE: Travel Channel is set to premiere next month a new series starring hip-hop artist and Run-DMC front man Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons.

The 16×30-minute series, titled Rev Runs Around the World, is due out December 2 with back-to-back episodes. Each chapter will see the hip-hop legend and his family visit places around the world while interacting with local cultures and tasting new foods. Departure Films and Simmons Lehman Productions are producing the title for Travel Channel.

“Shooting Rev Runs Around the World with my family was one of the best experiences of my life,” said Rev Run. “[My wife] Justine [and kids] Russy and Miley dragged me along on their adventures—and I wouldn’t trade those experiences with my family for anything. Whether we were riding elephants in Thailand or learning how to be ninjas in Tokyo, I’ll cherish those moments forever.”
