The Wedding of the Century, a feature-length BritBox original documentary marking the 40th anniversary of Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding, is set to launch next month.

On July 29, 1981, 750 million people in 74 countries tuned in to see the wedding at London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. In addition to restored footage of the wedding day, The Wedding of the Century includes never-before-heard anecdotes and interviews with insiders involved in planning the event. From Touchdown Films, the doc is set to launch on BritBox UK on July 15 and on BritBox North America on July 29.

Among those featured in the documentary are chief royal florist David Longman, musical director Barry Rose, Royal Navy head baker Dave Avery and royal photographer Kent Gavin.

Touchdown Films Founder John Osborne said: “We are delighted to be working with BritBox on this new feature-length documentary that reframes one of the most iconic days in history like never before.”
