Steve Ascher Upped to Senior VP of A+E Originals

A+E Networks has promoted Steve Ascher to the role of senior VP of production and development of A+E Originals.

Ascher, who joined A+E Networks in 2013 as an executive producer for History (Forged in Fire, Pawn Stars), has served as A+E Originals’ VP since December 2017. Earlier in his career, Ascher worked for NBC News, including at the network’s Today show.

A+E Originals, which launched just over a year ago with Ascher at the head, is a full-service unscripted content creation company that produces unscripted series, specials and documentaries across A+E Networks’ portfolio of channels, including A&E, History and Lifetime.

“Under Steve’s terrific leadership, A+E Originals has grown considerably in a short period of time,” said Paul Buccieri, the president of A+E Networks Group. “His team has been active on several fronts, from developing original content for our channels to forging talent deals and forming co-production partnerships. I’m pleased to have Steve at the helm of A+E Originals.”
