Smithsonian Channel Renews America in Color

Smithsonian Channel has ordered six additional hour-long episodes of America in Color from Arrow Media.

The new episodes will air in 2018. The series first premiered in July and presents iconic moments in U.S. history using artistry, an expert colorizing team and cutting-edge technology to transform black-and-white film and photographs into 4K color.

Season two of America in Color will cover themes such as titans of industry, the rise of the Mafia, the Wild West, Hollywood’s golden age and more. The first season spanned the 1920s to the 1960s.

For Arrow Media, Tom Brisley serves as creative director, Nick Metcalfe is executive producer and Lucie Ridout is series producer. John Cavanagh, Charles Poe and David Royle are executive producers for Smithsonian Channel. Composite Films leads the colorization and restoration process for the series.
