Shark Week Returns to Discovery Channel in July

Discovery Channel is launching Shark Week 2019, which promises more than 20 hours of shark programming, on Sunday, July 28.

Running through Sunday, August 4, Shark Week 2019’s lineup will feature all-new groundbreaking shark stories that reveal insights into the world of the marine creatures. The weeklong event will take viewers on a search for Deep Blue, employing the first drone-towed seal decoy and testing other cutting-edge technology for shark detecting surveillance. In addition, Rob Riggle, who tamed sharks with Shaq for Shark Week’s 30th anniversary, is returning in 2019 for a “Shark Trip” with some of his celebrity friends.

Last year, Shark Week reached 34.9 million total viewers across total day, and helped make Discovery Channel the top network on all of TV in prime time during the week of its run.
