Blue Ant Studios’ Toronto-based factual production company Saloon Media has appointed Nick Crowe to the position of production executive.

In his new role, Crowe will focus on developing new series and specials for the global market in factual entertainment and is also responsible for forging relationships and partnerships with domestic and international partners and broadcasters.

Crowe joins Saloon Media after three years working in independent production, developing and overseeing series such as Thank You, Canada (History Channel), Northern Gold (TVO) and Spaceman (CBC). Crowe was formerly director of original factual content at Shaw Media, a position that saw him look after production and development of new series and specials destined for History Channel, National Geographic Channel and Global, including Ice Road Truckers, Dieppe Uncovered and William Shatner’s Weird or What.

“Nick brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to our team as our production slate is ramping up,” says Michael Kot, managing director of Saloon Media. “His track record of working closely with co-production partners all over the world also aligns perfectly with the scope of projects we are working on.”
