Rakuten TV to Debut Break Point: A Davis Cup Story

Rakuten TV has unveiled its new original production, Break Point: A Davis Cup Story, a documentary about the world’s biggest international team competition in tennis.

From Kosmos Studios, Break Point: A Davis Cup Story reviews the last edition of the tournament, held in Madrid in 2019. Spain was proclaimed champion for the sixth time in the competition, which presented a completely remodeled format, with a final phase featuring 18 teams and held in just one week. The documentary will be available for free and exclusively on Rakuten TV from November 26.

Break Point: A Davis Cup Story focuses on the stories of the two finalist teams of the competition, Spain and Canada. The Spanish seniority, with Nadal as number one and four Davis Cup titles in his record, goes up against the youth of the Canadian team, led by the 20-year-old Denis Shapovalov. It also tells the personal story of Roberto Bautista, who after temporarily leaving the competition due to the death of his father, returned to support his team, played the final and brought the victory for Spain.

In addition to Nadal, Bautista, Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev, the documentary includes exclusive interviews with Feliciano López, Sergi Bruguera and Frank Dancevic, among others.
