Pig & Horse Productions Launches Documentary Division

Pig & Horse Productions’ documentary division will debut with a feature titled Reflections of Gauguin.

Reflections of Gauguin unfolds as a cinematic thriller grounded in real-world events where crime, art and philosophy all intersect,” said Salla Kozma, executive producer and founder of Pig & Horse. “It’s not merely a film about the question of art authentication but a story about corruption, power and the human stakes behind the quest for truth.”

Directed by Anssi Rimpelä and Heidi Richert and produced by Johanna Poikelainen, the investigative, character-driven documentary is currently shooting across seven European countries: Finland, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Monaco and France. Norse Key Studios will handle global distribution.

Reflections of Gauguin traces a decades-long search for truth surrounding a mysterious painting bearing the signature P. Gauguin. The film follows Kozma on screen as she navigates the elusive world of the global art market. The film features interviews with leading experts, including AI recognition expert Carina Popovici (Switzerland), art historian Irina Stotland (U.S.), art crime expert Noah Charney (U.S./Slovenia), Marc Restellini/Institut Restellini, specialist of art markets, Dr. Pauliina Laitinen (Finland), in addition to access to rare archival material and high-profile art spaces.
