WASHINGTON, D.C.: Passion Distribution is taking the one-hour documentary The Boy Who Tried to Kill Trump global, picking up the international sales rights for the Firecracker Films production.

The documentary is airing on BBC Three as The Brit Who Tried to Kill Trump. The story begins in June 2016, when 20-year-old British man Michael Sandford was arrested at a Donald Trump rally, after trying to take a police officer’s gun to shoot the then Republican presidential nominee. This doc follows Michael’s family as they travel to the U.S. for his sentencing.

Directed by Guy Simmonds (The Secret Life of Human Pups), The Boy Who Tried to Kill Trump was made available in the U.K. on BBC iPlayer on January 20.
