Pair of Pickups for Mythbusters: The Search

Beyond Distribution has lined up RTL NITRO in Germany and Bell Media in Canada to air Mythbusters: The Search.

The deal with RTL NITRO marks the first time the series has been acquired by the German broadcaster. The show will also air on French-speaking channel 2Tele in Canada. Produced by Beyond Productions for Discovery Science, Mythbusters: The Search aims to find the next myth-busting superstars, following the international success of the original Mythbusters series.

“NITRO is a premium brand for a male-skewing audience in Germany and with The Search, we are more than happy to offer our audience one of the top global properties in the market,” said Oliver Schablitzki, the executive VP at RTL NITRO.

Munia Kanna-Konsek, the head of sales at Beyond Distribution, added: “We are ecstatic that Mythbusters is back and that RTL NITRO and Bell Media are already on board. This series is our key launch show at MIPTV and fits perfectly with the requirement of international factual programming to be entertaining as well as educational.”
