Off the Fence Adds WaterBear Network Content to Catalog

Off the Fence, in celebration of World Nature Conservation Day, has added original documentaries from the WaterBear Network free streaming platform to its catalog.

WaterBear Network’s original content spans long- and short-form documentaries and series, including The Breakdown, a five-part short-form video series that delves into climate change, climate denial, climate justice and climate solutions, narrated by Jack Harries.

So Hot Right Now is a series of animated short films hosted by environmental broadcaster Lucy Siegle and nature and science filmmaker Tom Mustill that tackles key issues and provides inspiration for personal development on climate action. The short film Africa’s Hidden Sea Forest sees Craig Foster’s wife, Swati Thiyagarajan from the Sea Change Project, overcome her fear of swimming, driven by her mission to discover and conserve the Great African Seaforest, the whales and the species that depend on it. An Eye for Detail is a documentary film that follows up-and-coming wildlife photographer Alfie Bowen, who was diagnosed with autism at 11.

Mother of the Sea, a short film exploring the impact of plastics found in our oceans, tells the legend of The Mother of the Sea, familiar to every Inuit from Greenland to the Canadian Arctic. The five-part original series Not A Pet examines the illegal wildlife pet trade of cheetahs, tigers, birds, primates and reptiles. The film The Whale Who Saved Me delves into the story of whale biologist Nan Hauser, who had an extraordinary encounter with a humpback whale.

Both Off the Fence and WaterBear Network have been working hand-in-hand to create engaging content to inspire global audiences to drive change. The two companies were founded by Ellen Windemuth, executive producer of the BAFTA- and Oscar-winning feature documentary My Octopus Teacher.
