PARIS: Nicolas Deschamps, whose career includes stints at France Télévisions and ITV Studios, has joined Gedeon Programmes as producer and head of international co-productions.

Deschamps will be focusing specifically on programs and formats aimed at prime time. At this year’s World Congress of Science and Factual Producers in Vienna, he will launch a call for projects to international producers and broadcasters for the co-development of ambitious and landmark documentary projects, thanks to a 300,000-euro investment fund for 2016.

Previously, Deschamps served as the head of acquisitions and format development at Télé Images, and was the head of acquisitions for programs focused on discovery and knowledge at ARTE France. He later worked at France Télévisions as commissioning editor within the areas of nature, science and discovery, before joining the production company Boréales as head of development, and ITV Studios, where he was head of production in 2011 and 2012. He then joined MC4 as associate producer, where he produced the film D-Day’s Sunken Secrets.
