New Factual EP for STV Productions

LONDON: STV Productions has hired Peter Collins, who previously worked for Oxford Scientific Films, as the company's executive producer for factual.

Collins' new position takes effect on January 4, 2016. He will work out of London under Dan Korn, STV Productions' recently named creative director.

Prior to this appointment, Collins served as the head of development for Oxford Scientific Films, where he landed a wide variety of factual commissions for BBC One and Two, ITV, C4, Sky 1 and Nat Geo WILD. Among his development credits are Animal Odd Couples, Wild Weather with Richard Hammond and the popular Secret Life of… strand. Earlier in his career, he worked across production and development for a number of indies and BBC Science.

Collins commented: "STV has an incredible reputation for pushing creative boundaries and, with Dan's unrivaled experience of factual program making, it is a very exciting opportunity."

Korn added: "Peter has a very strong track record in the factual genre and I am thrilled about the creativity, skill and experience he will bring to the team. We all look forward to Peter joining us early next year."
