Channel 4’s New Factual-Entertainment Commissioning Editor

LONDON: Danny Carvalho has been appointed as the new commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 4.

Carvalho replaces Rich Evans, who recently left the factual entertainment and entertainment department. In his new role, Carvalho will report to Liam Humphreys, who heads the factual entertainment and entertainment teams at the channel. The appointment follows his stint covering a maternity leave in the Channel 4 formats department, where he commissioned series such as That’s So Last Century, Look into My Eyes and Dominos: A Slice of Life. He also oversaw returning formats, including Virtually Famous and Three Day Nanny.

Before joining Channel 4 in 2014, Carvalho served as head of development at Pulse Films. He was also executive producer at ITV Studios, where he was responsible for creating entertainment and factual formats such as ITV’s The Chase and Sky Living’s Four Weddings.
