Channel 4 in the U.K. has commissioned a second season of Arrow Media’s World’s Most Extreme, while the show has landed a host of new international slots via TCB Media Rights.

Channel 4 is on board for six new hour-long episodes that explore extreme cities, buildings, nature, aircraft, roads and more. The deal with Channel 4 also brings the brand to the More 4 outlet.

TCB Media Rights has licensed the series to National Geographic in Poland, Hungary and Romania; Multi Canal in Spain and Portugal; TV2 Denmark; Welt Germany; and BBC Studios’ Africa channels, among other platforms.

Nick Metcalfe, executive producer at Arrow Media, noted, “Arrow is really growing its slate of high-quality factual entertainment, particularly returnable series. World’s Most Extreme takes what’s amazing around the globe and turns it into compelling TV. It taps into everyone’s fascination for stories about extremes, wherever you live in the world. The key for us is producing a show which not only gets access to the best actuality footage, but gives the viewer a 360-degree view of the story—from archive to human interest accounts, and experts on the background science, to rich infographics and visual effects. Our ambition is to create a distinctive, high‐end look and feel to these fascinating stories and even to find humor in the occasionally mad extremes to which humans go.”

Holly Cowdery, sales manager at TCB Media Rights, added, “The first series of World’s Most Extreme is one of, if not the best-selling show in our catalog. We’re pretty confident this new series will outperform that, no pressure.”
