National Geographic Shakes Up Global Networks Team

WASHINGTON, D.C.: National Geographic Global Networks has put in place the senior team for programming, development, planning and marketing to work under CEO Courteney Monroe.

Tim Pastore, the president of original programming and production, takes on that role for all National Geographic Channel unscripted programming globally and will continue to report to Monroe. As part of his global responsibilities, now reporting to Pastore are the development, production and operations teams in London, along with those in New York and Washington, D.C. Additionally, he will now oversee National Geographic Studios (NG Studios), the in-house television production unit.

Hamish Mykura, previously executive VP and head of international content for National Geographic Channels International, now becomes executive VP of programming and development for National Geographic Global Networks and head of the London office, where he will continue to be based.

Alan Eyres will continue to serve as senior VP of programming and development, based in Washington, D.C. He will focus on global, unscripted content, serving as Pastore’s most senior programming team member in the U.S., and working closely with Mykura.

Heather Moran, the executive VP of programming, strategy and operations, will also assume that role globally, overseeing global production management, global production services and global operations and business systems.

Mykura, Eyres and Moran report to Pastore.

Geoff Daniels, the executive VP and general manager of Nat Geo WILD, assumes that role globally, with NG Studios also reporting to him for any WILD productions. Daniels will continue to report to Monroe. Janet Han Vissering, the senior VP of development and production for WILD, will continue as Daniels’s second in command, adding global to her plate. Brad Dancer, recently elevated to executive VP of programming planning and research, now assumes that role in a global capacity. Dancer will oversee the global planning and scheduling strategies as well as acquisitions for National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, Nat Geo PEOPLE and Nat Geo MUNDO across linear and nonlinear platforms. Dancer will continue to report to Monroe.

Jules Oldroyd will re-locate from London, where she was senior VP of programming and strategic development for NGCI, to Washington, D.C. She will work with Dancer on international program planning and scheduling for NGC and Nat Geo WILD, and on aligning global rollouts for premiere programming. Oldroyd will also oversee Nat Geo PEOPLE.

Additionally, FOX International Channels’s (FIC) chief marketing officer, Liz Dolan, takes on a dual role as interim chief marketing officer of the global National Geographic channel suite. Dolan will report to Monroe on National Geographic business and will continue to report to FIC President and CEO Hernan Lopez for FIC.

“By aligning my senior team to serve the global interests of the channels, we are now even better positioned to become the world’s leading destination for premium science, adventure and exploration programming,” said Monroe.
