MIPDoc to Feature Series of Premiere Showcases

MIPDoc 2019 will feature a series of premiere showcases from ZDF Enterprises, with its new partner Off the Fence, Smithsonian Channel in conjunction with Arrow Media and more.

Also at the event this year is “In Development Doc,” which features two MIPDoc Project Pitches in the categories of science and technology and current affairs and investigation.” All creators and producers are open to present their ideas, and the finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to potential production partners from Smithsonian Channel and National Geographic, among others.

As part of the France MIPTV Country of Honour showcase, MIPDoc will feature a unique selection of the latest documentaries produced in France, including the world premiere screening of French Loving, presented by About Premium Content. PBS International will present an exclusive preview of their upcoming factual series Country Music by Ken Burns. Additionally, Smithsonian channel will present a sneak preview of Britain in Colour, the network’s first European original franchise, based on its signature U.S. series America in Color.

Also at the event, Off the Fence Founder and CEO Ellen Windemuth and ZDF Enterprises’ VP of unscripted and co-CEO of Off the Fence, Ralf Rueckauer, will present their strategy for their future cooperation and their latest program highlights.
