Kingdom of Dreams, a fashion docuseries produced by Misfits Entertainment (McQueen, Rising Phoenix), is set to launch on Sky Documentaries and NOW next year.

The archive-led series will chronicle the fashion world across three decades—from the early 1990s to the 2010s—and from Paris and Milan to London and New York. Over four episodes, Kingdom of Dreams will chart a high-stakes story featuring the beauty and intrigue behind the most iconic fashion moments and shows of the era.

Misfits Entertainment began developing Kingdom of Dreams with Fremantle shortly after the theatrical release of BAFTA-nominated McQueen. The series will be distributed internationally by Fremantle.

Poppy Dixon, director of documentaries and factual at Sky, said: “The creativity, opportunity and mystery inherent in the fashion industry has always sparked curiosity and intrigue. When the team at Misfits and Fremantle shared their ambitious plans to tell the story of how the industry grew to become the global behemoth it is now, we knew Sky Documentaries would be the perfect home for this captivating story.”

Misfits Entertainment’s Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, creators and executive producers of Kingdom of Dreams, said: “We are immensely grateful to Fremantle and Sky for giving us the opportunity to return to the fashion world and expand on the narrative approach we evolved for McQueen to tell the story of a truly extraordinary period in fashion. We can’t wait to share it with audiences all over the world.”

Jamie Lynn, executive VP co-production and distribution in EMEA at Fremantle, said: “Developing such a bold and ground-breaking piece of event television with the Misfits team has been an absolute joy, and this series perfectly encapsulates the type of exciting, must-see documentary series that Sky is known for. We are certain that Kingdom of Dreams will enthrall international audiences, by capturing the story of style, high fashion and its creative power houses in a contemporary way.”
