Maxine Productions Taps Left/Right Alum Anneka Jones

Maxine Productions has appointed Anneka Jones, former chief content officer at Left/Right, as executive VP of development and current.

Jones will work to expand Maxine’s development slate, drive sales strategy and oversee current series and feature productions. At Left/Right, she contributed to almost every project since the company’s founding in 2005.

Over the last 20 years, Jones has earned credits for Showtime’s This American Life and The Circus; FX’s The New York Times Presents; Apple TV+’s Gutsy, hosted by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton; Prime Video’s Game 7; HBO’s Celtics City; CNN’s The Murdochs: Empire of Influence; MTV’s Exiled; AMC’s Ride with Norman Reedus; PBS’s Frontline; and 20 seasons of HGTV’s Hawaii Life, Caribbean Life, Mexico Life and Island Life.

Prior to working at Left/Right, Jones directed and produced observational documentaries for MTV, including True Life, Diary and Choose or Lose.

“Having been fortunate to work alongside Anneka for over a decade at Left/Right, I know firsthand the qualities for which she has become recognized around the industry,” said Mary Robertson, founder of Maxine. “She is a dynamic, versatile executive and producer, capable of combining journalistic rigor with strong commercial instincts. Her addition marks a pivotal moment for Maxine as we build on a wave of successes and invest in an ambitious nonfiction slate. I look forward to our next chapter together.”

Jones commented, “I am thrilled to join forces with Mary, a longtime friend and collaborator, as well as her incredible team at Maxine. I am honored to have the opportunity to build upon the company’s remarkable success by expanding its production capacity and accelerating its creative efforts.”
