La La Anthony, Timbaland & Leftfield Pictures Prep Hip-Hop Docuseries

NEW YORK: Leftfield Pictures is teaming up with actress La La Anthony and Grammy-winning producer Timbaland (Empire) to develop a brand-new docuseries profiling Face Time Agency, a casting company for booking music video and hip-hop fashion models.

Anthony will executive produce the project, while Timbaland has signed on as executive music producer. Face Time Agency’s clients include artists such as Drake, Kanye West and Robin Thicke, and the series is set amid the New York City nightlife scene. It shines a light on the cutthroat entrepreneurial side of hip hop as models, DJs and social media stars strive to become fashion, music and media moguls.

Leftfield Pictures’s David George and Will Nothacker will executive produce, as will Derek Gordon. The project marks the first joint media venture between Timbaland and music agency Jingle Punks, led by Jared Gutstadt.

Leftfield Entertainment CEO George said: “La La and Timbaland are perfect examples of what can be achieved when talent, determination and creativity collide with entrepreneurship. We’re thrilled to be in business with these two entertainment innovators to create a series that uncovers a unique, rarified faction of hip hop and provides a true soundtrack for the unpredictable journey toward fame and fortune.”

Anthony commented: “I’m thrilled to be executive producing a project that offers a true insider’s look into the business side of hip hop, especially one that explores the lives of fascinating women who have used hip hop as their platform to become successful entrepreneurs in fashion, music and more.”

“I’m excited to continue to build my brand within the TV space,” Timbaland added. “Projects like this, with music and culture at the center, are the sweet spot of my content play…let’s go!”
