HISTORY Lines Up Docuseries from Leonardo DiCaprio

NEW YORK: HISTORY has given the green light to the documentary series Frontiersmen from executive producers Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson and Stephen David.

The eight-hour docuseries from Appian Way Productions and Stephen David Entertainment will follow the stories of iconic pioneers such as Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Tecumseh, Davy Crocket and Andrew Jackson. The series will cover the 75 years of American history from the post-Revolutionary War colonies through the California Gold Rush.

“During these years, America went from the opportunity of land to the land of opportunity and it was a bloody struggle throughout,” said Paul Cabana, the executive VP and head of programming at HISTORY. “From Crockett to Boone, we’ll tell the bold stories of these adventurous trailblazers who explored the uncharted wilderness and became the icons we know today.”

Additional executive producers for Appian Way Productions are Michael Hampton and Phillip Watson. Kristen Burns and Russ McCarroll are executive producers for HISTORY. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for Frontiersmen.
