GRB Entertainment has inked deals for four documentaries, including Confessions of a Superhero, in Brazil, Japan and the U.K.

Sky UK acquired Confessions of a Superhero and The Mona Lisa Myth. The former follows the lives of three men and one woman who make their living working as superhero characters on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard. It offers a personal view into the daily routines of these individuals, revealing their struggles and triumphs as they pursue and achieve their own kind of fame. The Mona Lisa Myth, meanwhile, is narrated by Morgan Freeman and is a period docudrama that examines Leonardo Da Vinci’s life and career.

In addition, Globosat in Brazil renewed the documentary Remembering Whitney, about legendary singer Whitney Houston. The hour-long special celebrates the life and legacy of the six-time Grammy winner. In Japan, Nippon Television Network acquired Michael Sam, a 65-minute doc about the first openly gay American football player in the NFL.

“GRB is well known around the globe for its wide-ranging portfolio of factual programs and we are fortunate to also represent many top-notch documentaries,” said Michael Lolato, the senior VP of international distribution at GRB Entertainment. “From a sports figure with a groundbreaking story to a great singer and her tragic life to a group of people chasing a Hollywood dream to the great artist Da Vinci, GRB has programs that transcend borders and language barriers.”
