francetv distribution Adds WWII Docs to Catalogue

PARIS: francetv distribution has picked up the international distribution rights for a trio of 52-minute historical documentaries focused on World War II: Varian Fry’s List, I Betrayed Hitler and Drancy 1943, the Big Escape.

Varian Fry’s List centers on the titular American journalist who helped anti-Nazi refugees escape from France in 1940. The doc was produced by Mano A Mano and directed by Jean-Pierre Devillers.

I Betrayed Hitler spotlights seven key individuals who changed the course of history during WWII, including the Germany spy Hans-Thilo Schmidt. The production was made by Label Image and directed by Laurent Bergers.

Label Image’s Drancy 1943, the Big Escape tells the story of the dozens of Jewish prisoners at the Drancy transit concentration camp who decided to dig a tunnel to escape in 1943. This doc was directed by Nicolas Lévy-Beff.
