Foxtel Goes for Is Anybody Out There? Space Doc

MANCHESTER: Australia’s Foxtel has picked up the space documentary Is Anybody Out There?, distributed by Espresso Media International.

The 52-minute doc is set to debut on Foxtel’s History HD channel tomorrow night. The title calls upon leading scientists and cutting-edge technology to query the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life. TVE in Spain also recently secured the program.

“With new space discoveries occurring more frequently than ever, Is Anybody Out There? brings a timely and well-informed perspective to the debate,” said Jim Buchan, the general manager of factual at Foxtel. “We had a great response to Espresso Media International’s previous space documentaries, so we’re confident this new offering will resonate with our audience.”

David Hooper, managing director of Espresso Media International, commented: “We believe Is Anybody Out There? has had such an international draw because the topic of space exploration remains high on the broadcast agenda. We’re in talks with a number of other territories so we’re confident this is the first deal of many.”
