Entertainment One (eOne) has acquired the international rights to Fyre Fraud, Hulu’s feature-length original documentary about the failed music festival in the Bahamas.

Fyre Fraud, which bowed on Hulu in the U.S. earlier this year, tells the story of the luxury festival that deceived thousands of would-be revelers through the power of modern marketing. The investigative documentary features an exclusive interview with Billy MacFarland, the conman entrepreneur behind Fyre Festival who is now serving six years in jail for the scam. It also explores MacFarland’s involvement in other cons, as well as commentary from legal and cultural experts.

Noel Hedges, eOne’s executive VP of acquisitions and international distribution, said: “As soon as it was launched, this brilliantly made film garnered huge critical acclaim for its quality execution and access to the key players, and has instantly become widely talked about. We are thrilled to bring this dynamic film to audiences far and wide and see that discussion spread around the world.”
