Factual producer DSP has appointed Ninder Billing to be its new creative director.

In her role at the company, she will be tasked with further developing its documentaries and specialist-factual slate. She will report to Managing Director Donna Clark.

As The Garden’s head of specialist factual, Billing created and delivered the BAFTA-nominated series Operation Live for Channel 5. She also led on new prime-time returnable business across premium factual and popular specialist factual. Prior to this, Ninder served as commissioning editor for factual and news at Channel 5.

The news of Billing’s hiring coincides with the announcement that Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr is to move to BBC One and is recommissioned for a further two seasons. The show will be made from a newly established permanent regional office for DSP in Brighton.

Donna Clark said: “Ninder has an incredible reputation across the full spectrum on unscripted. From popular-factual titles to documentaries and current affairs, Ninder is brilliant and utterly determined in whatever she turns her hand to. She is the perfect fit for DSP’s high-quality, broad-reaching, ambitious factual output, and I can’t wait to work with her.”

Ninder Billing added: “DSP is one of the original premium factual producers and I’ve long admired the quality and breadth of its output. Joining as its creative director is hugely exciting, and I fully share Donna’s ambition for the company. Although I’ll be sad to leave my lovely colleagues at The Garden, this is an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.”
