Studio71 has partnered with Ample Entertainment to produce The Drive for Five, featuring racing legends Doug Herbert and George Poteet.

The four-part series will document the competition between the two drivers as they attempt to break the existing land speed record and surpass the 500 mph milestone in hot rod cars powered by automotive racing engines. Herbert and Poteet will be joined by teams of NASCAR and Formula One racers and alumni.

Herbert, who is a four-time Top Fuel Drag Racing World Champion, will drive “The Beast,” a racing machine whose carbon fiber body work was built by Haas Formula One team principal Guenther Steiner through his company, Fibreworks. The team also includes NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief Ray Evernham and more.

Poteet, who has set more than dozen records, including the current land speed record of over 470 mph and a top speed of 481.5 mph, will drive “The Speed Demon.”

The Drive for Five will be executive produced by Ari Mark and Phil Lott from Ample Entertainment; Arielle Worona, Michael Schreiber and Adam Boorstin from Studio71; and Larry Aidem from Reverb Advisors.
