Discovery Lines Up Prank Show Led by Johnny Galecki

Johnny Galecki (Roseanne, The Big Bang Theory) is on board as host and producer of the new prank series SciJinks, which is due to debut on Discovery and Science Channel later this year.

SciJinks looks on as Galecki and “prankologists” Tamara Robertson and Jason Latimer use science as the foundation for outrageous stunts and practical jokes. The show is being made by Galecki’s Alcide Bava Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions. It is slated to begin airing in the spring.

Galecki and Andrew Haas are executive producers for Alcide Bava. Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton and Anthony Storm are exec producers for A. Smith & Co. Caroline Perez is executive producing for Science Channel.

Galecki remarked: “I am humbled and excited to work closely on this show with some of the scientists and STEM students I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the past decade. It’s a great opportunity to put these amazing folks in the spotlight, erase some of the stereotypes of people in the sciences and it’s resulted in a show that is a whole lot of fun.”

SciJinks, the smartest prank show on television, is a fun series with both humor and practical science,” added Rich Ross, the group president of Discovery and Science Channel. “There is no one better to host and produce this than Johnny Galecki.”
