NEW YORK: The original nonfiction crime series Nightwatch from executive producer Dick Wolf is returning to A&E Network for a third season next month.

The latest season will premiere on Thursday, December 1, at 9 p.m. The hour-long series follows teams of elite emergency responders in the New Orleans Emergency Medical Services unit who risk their lives working the overnight shift. Firefighters, police officers and EMTs take center stage in Nightwatch as they respond to thousands of emergency calls from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Season three will look on as the New Orleans EMS unit enters a brand-new facility after losing their home base to Hurricane Katrina more than ten years ago. The city’s emergency responders are also faced with a spike in heroin overdoses and are confronted with challenges when a police officer is struck down while on duty.

Nightwatch is produced by Wolf Reality (Cold Justice) and 44 Blue Productions (Wahlburgers) for A&E Network. Wolf and Tom Thayer serve as executive producers for Wolf Reality. The executive producer for 44 Blue Productions is Rasha Drachkovitch, while Shelly Tatro and Devon Hammonds are EPs for A&E Network.
