CuriosityStream Sees 46 Percent Revenue Increase

In the third quarter, CuriosityStream’s revenues increased 46 percent year-over-year to $18.4 million.

“Our Q3 results—above guidance—reflect disciplined execution and durable, recurring demand for our content,” said Clint Stinchcomb, president and CEO of CuriosityStream. “Revenue grew 46 percent year-over-year, adjusted free cash flow increased 88 percent, and adjusted EBITDA improved from negative to a positive $3 million. Our complementary growth engines—retail and wholesale subscriptions, plus AI and traditional licensing—are building momentum and strengthening CuriosityStream’s position at the intersection of knowledge, media and artificial intelligence.”

The company saw a record gross profit of $10.8 million, a 58.7 percent gross margin, and a net loss of $3.7 million.

CuriosityStream also reported an adjusted EBITDA of $3 million, an improvement of $3.4 million compared to the adjusted EBITDA loss of $0.4 million in Q3 2024.

Record net cash provided by operating activities was $4.5 million, up from $2.3 million in the year-ago period.

The company’s growth in Q3 was led by the launch of subscription services with partners in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and Germany; building on the foundation of its advertising business with its U.S. Hispanic and flagship FAST channels; launching payment options in 16 new currencies; and a fourth straight quarter of expanded data and video licensing partnerships for AI training.

In the fourth quarter, CuriosityStream expects revenues within the range of $18 million to $20 million.
