Cream Films, a division of Cream Productions, has entered into a co-production partnership with acclaimed Indian-Canadian director, photographer and activist Indrani and GK Reid, a producer, artist and social justice advocate.

Under the deal, Cream, Indrani and Reid will create, develop and produce feature documentaries with a focus on social justice. Indrani and Reid will work alongside Kate Harrison Karman, president of Cream, and Corey Russell, veteran documentary producer (The Go-Go’s) and Cream Films executive VP.

Indrani’s recent film Girl Epidemic earned the Disruptive Innovator award at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. Her other critically successful films include Legendary Lady White Snake and Till Human Voices Wake Us. Further, she has created images for over 300 brands and her work has been published in such media outlets as HBO, CNN, The New York Times and Vanity Fair. Her works are exhibited in museums worldwide and part of the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Reid has collaborated with Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Anne Hathaway, Kim Kardashian, Mary J. Blige, Channing Tatum, Kanye West, Prince and David Bowie, among others. He has produced and directed branding and campaigns for Louis Vuitton, LVMH, Barney’s, Hugo Boss, L’Oreal Paris, Lancome, Shiseido, Pantene, Volvo, Jaguar, Verizon, Nike and Pepsi.

Kate Harrison Karman said: “Indrani is a true tour de force—a powerful artist and filmmaker who yields her creative lens for social justice and change. As we continue to prioritize feature documentaries, her international reach and her provocative storytelling with a purpose in collaboration with GK is exactly what we want Cream Films to symbolize.”

Indrani commented: “Believing that artists as myth-makers shape the parameters of the possible, my work explores transformation and the intersection between mythology and reality from diverse perspectives, to inspire change. I am thrilled to work with Cream’s proven expertise in achieving these goals for good.”

Reid added: “We are excited to create meaningful and disruptive work through collaboration with a remarkable team like Cream, bringing together unique visions for equality and sustainability, and nimble but powerful approaches. We look forward to creating game-changing content together.”
