LONDON/LOS ANGELES: Content Media Corporation has secured distribution for a raft of music-themed titles from Cardinal Releasing.

The company added to its slate a number of Cardinal’s new Emperor Media titles produced and directed by music and media industry veteran Jon Brewer. Among the titles that Content is launching for the international market at MIPCOM are Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story, narrated by David Bowie and celebrating the life of guitar virtuoso Mick Ronson. Also part of the pact are the three-part miniseries Monochrome: Black, White & Blue, in which Brewer shines a light on America’s boiling kettle of racial unrest for the past 300 years to the present day and the musical by-product that resulted: blues, rock and roll, and rap; the feature documentary B.B. King: On The Road, the highly-anticipated sequel to B.B. King: The Life of Riley; and Steve McQueen: Desert Racer, unearthing the story behind film icon’s favorite pastime and hidden talent, dirt-bike racing.

Jonathan Ford, the executive VP of sales and distribution at Content Media, commented, “For more than 40 years, Jon Brewer has played a pivotal role in the careers of some of the world’s greatest icons, bringing their stories vividly to life as an acclaimed producer/director. As a result of this, Cardinal Releasing represents some of the very best music and entertainment biopics and documentaries in the world and we’re pleased to ink this significant agreement as we head to MIPCOM.”

Brewer added, “In this ever-expanding arena of increasingly complex platforms and windows for digital, television and theatrical exploitation, we are thrilled to have aligned ourselves with Content Media to represent our product, as this guarantees our programming will reach its maximum potential in the world marketplace.”
