ATLANTA: The Hunting Ground has been slated for a November 19 debut on CNN in the U.S. with limited commercial interruption.

CNN Films’ The Hunting Ground is a feature documentary about sexual assault on American college campuses. It explores the failure of universities to address the issue, and the rise of a new student movement. The documentary is written and directed by Kirby Dick and produced by Amy Ziering, the team behind the Academy Award nominated The Invisible War, which uncovered the prevalence of sexual assault in the U.S. Military. Following the experiences of survivors Annie Clark and Andrea Pino, the film uses first-person testimonies and expert insights to expose the sensitive and complex issue. After the 9 p.m. premiere broadcast, encores will air on November 19 at 12 a.m. and November 22 at 9 p.m. A streaming simulcast will be available on CNNgo via desktop, mobile, iPad and Apple TV. Following the broadcast premiere, The Hunting Ground will be available on-demand for seven days on CNNgo and cable operator VOD platforms.

Following the premiere of The Hunting Ground, CNN will air Sexual Assault on Campus, a roundtable discussion with legal and counseling experts skilled in sexual assault investigations, as well as the filmmakers. The roundtable will be hosted by CNN New Day anchor Alisyn Camerota.

“We are glad CNN is presenting The Hunting Ground, and providing a national platform for this urgent issue that has been ignored far too long,” said Dick.

The title was released theatrically by RADiUS, the boutique label of The Weinstein Company. The film was also screened by nearly 1,000 educational institutions.
