Channel 5 Renews Traffic Cops

Channel 5 has renewed its successful blue light series Traffic Cops for a 12th season from Mentorn Media.

The latest 20×60-minute season embeds with the officers at the North Yorkshire Road Policing Unit for the first time in three years. It will be presented by Jamie Theakston. Passion Distribution handles global distribution.

Tayte Simpson, executive producer, commented: “We’re delighted to be returning to North Yorkshire, the U.K.’s largest county. It’s been three years since we were last filming with the North Yorkshire Police and we’re back with some of most dramatic incidents we’ve ever filmed—from a massive drug bust to a heart-stopping high-speed pursuit with an incredibly tense but successful outcome for North Yorkshire Police.”

Simon Meehan, series director, added: “We’re incredibly excited to be back with the team at North Yorkshire RPU. It’s been three years since we were last there, and so much has changed. Viewers can expect the Traffic Cops they all know and love, with some highly charged moments as they tackle road crime in the 3,000 square miles of North Yorkshire.”
