CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution Unveils MIPTV Lineup

CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution is heading to MIPTV with a slew of new unscripted programs.

Among the new titles on offer, Ice and Fire: Tracking Earth’s Climate Crisis follows the scientists doing trailblazing fieldwork to accurately measure climate change. The one-off documentary is produced by Yap Films.

Also available are The New Human, predicting what the next step in human evolution will be; Gespe’Gewa’Gi: The Last Land, highlighting the Mi’gmaq Indigenous men and women who make their living in the commercial fishing industry; The Last Guide, centering on the last traditional fishing guide in Algonquin Park; Never Too Old, following an 81-year-old Ph.D. candidate; and Rare Bird Alert, seeing a punk rock birder explore how the climate crisis is affecting birds.

Several new short docs are on offer as well, including Fatima in Kabul, about 20-year-old Fatima, whose life changed before her eyes after the U.S. and NATO pulled out of Afghanistan; Real Blackity Talk, shining a spotlight on Black women and non-binary Black people; and Patty vs. Patty, revisiting Toronto’s 1985 “Patty Wars.”
