BTK: A Killer Among Us, a two-hour true-crime special from Cream Productions, is slated to premiere on Investigation Discovery next month.

The special dives into the details of serial killer Dennis Rader’s murder spree in Wichita, Kansas, that began in 1974. Through interviews with those closest to the case, including his daughter Kerri Rawson, BTK: A Killer Among Us offers insight into the killer’s psyche as well as a look at his seemingly normal life as he continued preying on his victims. Rader wasn’t arrested for his numerous crimes until 2005. The special premieres on ID on Sunday, February 17, at 10 p.m.

Kate Harrison, David Brady, Matt Booi and Jeff Hirschfield are the executive producers for Cream Productions. For Investigation Discovery, Thomas Cutler is senior executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior VP of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager and Henry Schleiff is group president of Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, American Heroes Channel and Destination America.

“This is a horrifically perfect example of a wolf in sheep’s clothing,” said Schleiff. “It’s shocking to think that for 31 years, Dennis Rader was able to live a double life: one as a doting husband and father, and the other as one of our country’s most vicious and prolific serial murderers.”
