Blue Ant Sells 60-Plus Hours to CCTV

Blue Ant International has inked a deal with China’s CCTV that will bring 60-plus hours of programming from its 4K nature and wildlife library to CCTV-1 and CCTV-10.

CCTV-1 (Mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong) acquired three titles from Love Nature’s production project with Plimsoll Productions, Camp Zambia: Life’s Journey Monkey Island and Valley of Flood and Fire. Africa’s Wild Horizons and Land of Gremlins, both from Off the Fence, are part of the package as well. The channel has also acquired Wild Castles, which was created by Taglicht Media for Love Nature, in addition to Ananey’s Wild Israel and Mysteries of the Mekong, produced by Antidote Productions.

CCTV-10 (Mainland China) also picked up titles from Love Nature and Plimsoll Productions’ Camp Zambia project, including The Big Dry, Tales from Zambia and Wild Survivors. From Off the Fence, the broadcaster went for Africa’s Claws and Jaws and Wildlife Icons. Also headed to CCTV-10 is Deadly Australians, from Wildbear Productions. Blue Ant Media original productions are part of the deal as well: Animal Senses, Mysteries of Evolution, Strange Creatures and The Big Feed.

“China is an important market for us and buyers across all platforms are looking for the highest quality programming,” said Solange Attwood, executive VP of Blue Ant International. “Working with CCTV to populate their platforms with our stunning natural history series and documentaries, created by some of the best wildlife and nature producers in the world, truly showcases the strength of our programming offer at MIPCOM.”
