LONDON: BBC Worldwide has sold Joe & Caspar Hit the Road to E4 in the U.K., where the feature-length film will broadcast next month.

Joe & Caspar Hit the Road sees Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee take a European road trip using only the money they can earn each day doing various jobs. The movie successfully launched on DVD last year. Sugg and Lee will be at MIPTV to help launch the title to the international market.

Paul Hembury, executive producer for BBC Worldwide, remarked: “After such a successful DVD, we’re thrilled that Joe and Caspar will be reaching a new audience on TV.”

The duo, who have more than 11 million YouTube subscribers, are also taking on America in BBC Worldwide and Raucous Productions’s Joe & Caspar Hit the Road: USA. That title is slated for release on DVD and digital download in November 2016, and will become available for pre-order in July.

Dominic Smales, founder of Gleam Futures, stated: “I am absolutely thrilled that the record-breaking success of Joe & Caspar Hit the Road has been consolidated by a commission for a second movie. This cements the fact that this talent is here to stay and success for them in long-form content is far from a flash in the pan.”

Sugg noted: “We don’t know how it happened, but it’s happening! Yee-hah!”

Lee added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with my friend Joe on this exciting new project and can’t wait to get back on the road. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and it is an honor to be able to do it again… but this time even bigger, oh yehhh!”
