BBC Factual has ordered Secret Garden, a brand-new 5×60-minute series for BBC One and iPlayer.

From Plimsoll Productions and co-produced by The Open University, the new natural history title will delve into a variety of U.K. wildlife. Each episode is set in a different garden, from the wilds of Scotland to the urban jungle.

Jack Bootle, head of commissioning for specialist factual at the BBC, said, “Last year, BBC One’s Wild Isles became the highest-rating factual series of the year, showing there’s a huge audience who are excited by the wildlife of Britain and Ireland. Now, in Secret Garden, we’re looking at animal dramas that are even closer to home—the unbelievable true stories playing out right now in gardens up and down the U.K. It’s a major three-year production that gives our gardens the blue-chip treatment. I can’t wait to see what the team at Plimsoll Productions deliver.”
