The CNN original series Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico has been picked up for BBC Two and iPlayer.

The six-parter follows the award-winning actress, producer and director as she travels to the land of her ancestors to see how Mexico’s landscape and history have shaped the culinary culture. She visits a different region in each episode to see how ancient meets modern in the cuisine.

Longoria travels to Mexico City, Oaxaca, Veracruz and more.

The series, produced by RAW, which also produced Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, will debut on BBC Two and iPlayer on October 8. Banijay Rights handles global distribution of the series outside of the U.S.

“As a Mexican-American, this show allowed me to connect with my roots in a profound way, exploring the rich culinary heritage of the land of my ancestors,” Longoria said. “Through this journey, I discovered the magic that lies within Mexican cuisine, where history, culture and flavor converge. I can’t wait to share the stories, traditions and the incredible diversity of Mexican food with audiences on BBC Two and iPlayer. It’s a celebration of Mexico’s culinary legacy, and I hope it inspires everyone to embark on their own culinary adventures.”

“We’re delighted to be bringing viewers another unforgettable culinary exploration with the brilliant Eva Longoria guiding us through the vibrant flavors of Mexico,” added Jo Lapping, head of factual acquisitions at BBC.
