Barcroft Studios has renamed the company and put in place a reworked operational structure with new senior hires.

The company’s reorganization has resulted in parent company Barcroft Holdings being renamed as Barcroft Studios and Barcroft Media (editorial content and distribution), Barcroft Productions (linear and digital TV production) and Barcroft Plus (branded content) being gradually phased out. Employees of the erstwhile constituent core businesses will now all work under the Barcroft Studios corporate brand.

Press agency Barcroft Wire and photographic agency Barcroft Images will not be affected by the restructuring.

Amid the Barcroft Studios’ reorganization, there has been a spate of new appointments, including that of former Wall to Wall Media executive Louise Murray to head of production. Danny Whitfield, formerly of Spun Gold/Knickerbockerglory, will oversee external development. Ex-BBC Three Deputy Editor Lizzie Wingham will join as editorial commissioner. Former Off the Fence commercial exec Georgina Eyre has been hired in the role of distribution consultant.

Barcroft Studios CEO Sam Barcroft said: “At Barcroft Studios, we have invested in original IP development for over a decade. We’ve now reimagined our group to best exploit the opportunities we’re seeing emerging from creating and distributing successful content. Barcroft is committed to delivering even more world-class factual entertainment, using amazing true stories to delight global audiences.”
