AMC Studios and Cream Productions are working together on Acorn TV’s first unscripted original series, the Jane Seymour-led Relative Secrets.

Hosted by Seymour, star of Acorn TV’s Harry Wild, the investigative series, part true-crime and part genealogy, will delve into participants’ family histories and discover the dark truths buried in their bloodlines.

Each episode will investigate an everyday American family’s darkest mystery, aiming both to solve the mystery and explore how it shapes that family today. Host Seymour oversees the overall investigation in each episode, which is led by archaeologist Natasha Billson (The Great British Dig).

Cream Productions is behind the unscripted programs Fear Thy Neighbor, Murder U and BTK: A Killer Among Us. AMC Studios is the exclusive international distributor of the series.

“I’m thrilled to come aboard Relative Secrets as host, deepening my rich relationship with Acorn TV,” said Seymour. “Now, in addition to solving cleverly crafted mysteries on Harry Wild, I get the chance to uncover real family unknowns. As we all know, reality is often much stranger than fiction—I can’t wait to dive in.”

Don Klees, senior VP of programming at Acorn TV, said: “We are delighted to begin Acorn TV’s journey into unscripted originals with Relative Secrets and the incredible Jane Seymour. This series blends true crime and investigation with the thrilling mystery storytelling Acorn TV audiences know and love, creating something truly special.”
