BURBANK: ABC has given the go-ahead to a second season of its BattleBots revival.

The show’s second run will feature new technologies, more destructive bots and even the possibility of drones and flying battlebots. In its first season, the competition show ranked as the number one series in its time period in total viewers (5.4 million), adults aged 18 to 49 and across the male demographic.

The series comes from Whalerock Industries and Ed Roski and Greg Munson, who created the BattleBots franchise. The original show aired on Comedy Central in the early 2000s.

MGM Television will distribute the program worldwide.
