Fifth Season Scores Death Cap: The Mushroom Murders Sales

Fifth Season has secured a raft of sales for the three-part docuseries Death Cap: The Mushroom Murders, which it co-produced with Dreamchaser and Den of Martians.

Directed by the Emmy-nominated Gil Marsden (United States of Scandal with Jake Tapper), the series chronicles the case of an Australian woman convicted of fatally poisoning three relatives with a mushroom-laced meal. Fifth Season has sold the series to Netflix in the U.K., CNN in the U.S. and Canada, Bell Media in French Canada, SVT in Sweden, DR in Denmark, NRK in Norway and MTV Oy in Finland.

Death Cap: The Mushroom Murders was originally commissioned by Stan in Australia, which will air the final two episodes later this year.

Death Cap: The Mushroom Murders cuts straight to the heart of a case that’s captivated Australia and far beyond,” said Jennifer Ebell, executive VP of television distribution at Fifth Season. “With rare access and clear-eyed storytelling, Gil brings fresh insight to a small-town tragedy that spiraled into a global media storm. The response at home has been extraordinary, and we’re excited to share this story with audiences around the world.”
