Filming Wraps on Toronto Airport Uncovered for Nat Geo & Corus

Arrow Media and Cantina Media have wrapped production on Toronto Airport Uncovered, a new ten-part docuseries commissioned by National Geographic and Corus Entertainment that goes behind the scenes of Toronto Pearson International Airport.

“It’s fantastic to be working with Nat Geo and Corus Entertainment on such an ambitious and exciting series,” said Tom Brisley, CEO of Arrow Media. “Aviation connects us all, and this project gives viewers a unique look behind the scenes at what it really takes to keep the world flying. It’s also a brilliant example of how our industry can come together to deliver big, bold storytelling.”

He continued, “We’re delighted to be partnering once again with Michael Kot and Cantina, bringing together the very best teams to make this series happen. Collaborations like this show the power of partnerships and shared vision and we couldn’t wish for a better set of partners to bring this ambitious series to life.”

For the first time, Toronto Pearson International Airport granted a documentary team full access to film its 24/7 operation. Shot across two seasons, the series captures footage of over 30 operational zones, including airside coordination, emergency response teams, command centers, winter operations, security intelligence and the complex logistics that support tens of millions of passengers each year.

The series was commissioned by Nat Geo for the U.S. and EMEA and Corus Entertainment for Canada. SBS in Australia has also boarded as a presale partner. Serial Maven Studios is overseeing all licensing and distribution.

Toronto Airport Uncovered pulls back the curtain on a world hidden in plain sight, offering rare access to Pearson’s inner workings,” said Michael Kot, president of Cantina Media. “It’s the kind of immersive, high-access storytelling we love: an unscripted look at a place the public rarely gets to see,”

Solange Attwood, CEO of Serial Maven Studios, added, “Toronto Airport Uncovered represents exactly the kind of ambitious, globally appealing factual storytelling that Serial Maven was built for. Our partnership with Arrow Media taps into the best of U.K./Canada treaty co-production and reflects our commitment to delivering premium, high-access series for major international buyers.”
