NHK’s Behind the Scenes: Detective Conan Sells in Six Territories

NHK Enterprises has sold the NHK documentary Behind the Scenes: Detective Conan to six countries across Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The documentary, which provides the first in-depth interview with the creator of the manga Detective Conan, has been acquired by Thai PBS in Thailand, PTS in Taiwan, Bilibili in China, Now TV in Hong Kong, Seven. One Entertainment Group in Germany and Spacetoon in the UAE.

The 49-minute film offers a behind-the-scenes look at Gosho Aoyama’s work, revealing never-before-told stories, the intense struggles of the creative process and the setbacks he endured.

“NHK’s documentaries that cover diverse genres such as science, wildlife and history are always popular, but our recent factual slate featuring Japan’s creative power, ranging from behind-the-scenes of popular hit manga to the delicate craftworks of artisans, are very successful as well,” said Kazuko Taguchi, general manager of the content distribution department at NHK Enterprises.
