Mary Beard on Board for TV Real Festival

Mary Beard, a classicist who specializes in ancient Rome, has signed on to deliver a keynote during the TV Real Festival, taking place June 18 to 20. You can sign up for your free registration here.

Beard is Emerita Professor and Fellow of Newnham College, Cambridge, and the classics editor of the TLS. Her previous books include the best-selling Wolfson History Prize-winning Pompeii, SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome and Women & Power: A Manifesto. She has made numerous TV series, and her books have been published in over 30 languages. Beard returns to screens with Meet the Roman Emperor, an epic journey that explores the realities of life for this powerful figure, taking audiences behind palace walls to reveal a hidden world of the Roman imperial court.

A three-day must-attend virtual event taking place a week prior to Sunny Side of the Doc and NATPE Budapest, the inaugural edition of the TV Real Festival will feature keynotes and panels with leading executives and creatives discussing the world of unscripted, from lifestyle, factual entertainment and docs to non-scripted entertainment and game-show formats.
