BBC Cymru Wales Slates New & Returning Titles

BBC Cymru Wales has commissioned the brand-new adventure series Wynne Evans and Joanna Page: Lost at Sea, along with a host of other new and returning programs.

Wynne Evans and Joanna Page: Lost at Sea will see the popular host duo embark on a journey along the Welsh coastline. On the returning slate, Wales’ Home of the Year has landed a third season, this time with an additional Christmas special.

The two-part Hunting Mr. Nice is a BBC Factual and BBC Wales co-commission for BBC Two and iPlayer, while music and storytelling will come together in Kelly Jones with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

In Chris Cooks Cymru, chef Chris “Flamebaster” Roberts will take his passion on the road across Wales.

The long-running Our Lives will also return for an eighth season, made by production companies spread across Wales with three programs co-commissioned with BBC Network. Three of the Our Lives programs are co-commissions with BBC Network.

The upcoming Dream Team (w.t.) is an inspirational observational documentary about grief, while Dino Hunters (w.t.) will explore Wales’ fossil record. Skanda Vale Life (w.t.) will tell the story of an over 50-year-old multi-faith community.

More new commissions include the exploration program In Search of Lost Mines (w.t.); Rockstar Shearers (w.t.), which will follow the world of competitive sheep shearing; and The Pigeon Fanciers of Rhyl (w.t.), delving into the often overlooked sport.

The new titles will broadcast on BBC Cymru Wales and iPlayer over the coming months.

“We’re delighted to be announcing these shows today,” said Nick Andrews, head of commissioning at BBC Cymru Wales. “After a terrific response from the sector and a further funded development phase, we know these series will delight our audiences here and across the U.K. Talent-fronted shows continue to make a real impact—they bring real joy—and BBC Cymru Wales is super proud to be working with such a warm and friendly family of presenters.”
