Fremantle Secures Unscripted Sales at MIPCOM

Fremantle has inked a host of international deals for productions from its non-scripted slate, including Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned, House of Kardashian and Whale with Steve Backshall.

Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned, from WhyNow Studios, recently launched on BBC Two in the U.K. It tells the story of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel. The documentary is set to launch on Movistar Plus+ (Spain), DokuTV (Former Yugoslavia and Albania), BBC (MENA), RTP (Portugal), Nova (Greece), CANAL+ (Poland) and Now TV (Hong Kong, Macau).

The three-part docuseries House of Kardashian, from 72 Films (a Fremantle company), explores the rise, reach and cost that comes with being some of the most famous women on the planet. Following a successful U.K. launch on Sky Documentaries, House of Kardashian is headed for Foxtel (Australia) and GAİN  (Turkey).

Whale with Steve Backshall will travel overseas after its premiere on Sky Nature (U.K.) later in the year. The blue-chip natural history series will launch on BBC (MENA), DokuTV (Former Yugoslavia and Albania), CANAL+ (Poland), TVI (Portugal) and Movistar Plus+ (Spain).

Fremantle is handling the global distribution for Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned and Whale with Steve Backshall. Fremantle has the global rights for House of Kardashian outside of the U.S.
