BossaNova Media has sold a slew of factual programs to U.K. broadcasters Channel 4, Sky, A+E Networks, CBS and UKTV.

Channel 4 picked up two titles from BossaNova’s history slate, including Hindenburg: The Cover-Up. Produced by AMS Pictures, it revisits the story of the massive German airship that crashed into a New Jersey field in 1937 and was destroyed by fire in under 40 seconds for reasons that have never been explained.

The broadcaster also acquired Go Button Media’s Castle Secrets, originally produced for Super Channel Canada. The eight-part series explores a historic castle, revealing the secrets of its construction and the lives of the people who once lived in its walls.

Sky in the U.K. acquired four series from BossaNova. This includes season five of Worldmark Films’ Caught on Dashcam, featuring road incidents filmed by motorists; Greenstone TV’s Highway Cops, following officers as they strive to keep drivers safe on New Zealand’s roads; and Greenstone’s Highway Patrol and Motorway Patrol.

A+E Networks’ U.K. service bought Go Button Media’s Mysteries of the Ancient Dead, which sheds light on ancient civilizations’ relationship with death, as well as a second season of Content Kings’ Secrets of The Lost Liners. The series explores ocean liners that have been lost at sea over the last 100 years.

CBS licensed Homicide with Ron Iddles, produced by CJZ. Hosted by a well-known Australian detective, the series goes behind the headlines to tell the inside stories of some of Iddles’ most challenging cases.

UKTV, meanwhile, picked up season four of Stampede Productions’ Borderforce USA: The Bridges, following the work of U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers as they attempt to stop terrorists, drug smugglers and arms traffickers from crossing the world’s busiest border between the U.S. and Mexico.

“Five deals with five major U.K. broadcasters—undoubtedly among the most discerning in the world—is a great start to our MIPCOM 2023 campaign and a promising sign of business to come,” said Holly Cowdery, head of sales at BossaNova. “They also confirm that BossaNova’s factual catalog contains something for everyone, whether it’s true-crime you’re after or the true stories behind history’s enduring mysteries.”
